EMT-Basic Initial Course |

EMT-Basic Initial Course Course Cost $800 A 145 hour course that meets all State of Connecticut requirements to become an EMT-Basic. Course topics include: CPR/Defibrillation; safety/well-being; BSI/Infection Control; Medical/Legal Issues; Airway, Adjuncts and Oxygen; Patient Assessment for Medical, Behavioral Emergencies; Trauma, Obstetrics & Gynecology; Infants and Children; also Traumatic Brain Injury and both written and practical exams.
Course Specifics- Price includes a $200 non-refundable deposit to hold seat in course

Prerequisites: Must be 16 years of age or older. Those under the age of 18 years of age will need to present a signed Parental Consent form.
Tuition Fee Includes:New BLS Health Ccare Provider Manual, CPR Card, Pocket Mask, CPR Test and Practical, Brady EMT-Basic Manual (Current Edition), Fanny Pack that contains BP cuff, stethoscope, trauma scissors and pen light, and in-class practical and written exams. Applicants that pass the course then can apply to take the State of Connecticut EMT-B practical and National Registry exams.

Initial EMT-B State Practical Testing Course Cost $60
Candidates who successfully complete an EMT-Basic Course approved by the Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) are eligible to complete initial practical testing. Completion paperwork MUST be submitted to OEMS prior to registration.
Stations to be tested include:
· Medical Patient Assessment
· Trauma Patient Assessment
· Cardiac Arrest—AED
· Bag Valve Mask Ventilation
· Seated Spinal Immobilization
· Random Skills Station

EMT-B State Practical Re-Testing Course Cost $35
(2 OR 3 Stations Only)
The Office of Emergency Services (OEMS) allows those Candidates that have failed two or three stations to re-take those failed areas. The Candidate will be notified as to which stations they have failed by OEMS and need to present that information to A Second Chance upon registration. Candidates that fail 4 or more stations MUST repeat the entire exam.
Stations open to re-testing include:
