Depending on which modules the candidate wished to take, the basic first aid course consists of General Principles, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. A 2.5 to 3 hour entry level awareness program designed for the general public, parents, babysitters, grandparents, churches, clubs, etc. The course covers AHA guidelines for the one rescuer adult and pediatric CPR and relief of Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction, the chain of survival, and recognizing the signs of heart attack and stroke. This is a 1 hour class designed for those personnel who need to be annually certified in blood borne pathogen training. This meets OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030 guidelines. Cost includes: textbook and course completion card.
